The gamer body goes through a daily cycle that can be broken down into 3 main areas: food intake, digestion and elimination.
Being aware of this cycle is very important, so is knowing what type of foods should be consumed and when.
Consuming food, especially heavy foods (greasy and fatty) at specific times of the day will bog your system down and you will become
sluggish, irritable and tired.
Elimination (4am till Midday)
Your body is trying to eliminate the previous days food, eat light food such as fruit to allow your body to concentrate
on elimination of waste.
Food intake (Midday till 8pm)
Your body needs nutrition, so ensure your meals are 75% Salad and/or Vegetables, for a healthy meal.
Drink water prior to a meal and consume the Salad first to help with digestion.
Do not rush, as you may end up over eating.
Digestion, (8pm till 4am)
Your body is trying to digest, so during this time try not to eat. If hungry, trying drinking a glass of water first,
still hungry then have a light healthy snack such as fruit or nuts.
Fruit for breakfast
Fruit gives your body the much needed vitamins, fluids, fibre and antioxidants it needs for the day. You will feel lighter in the mornings,
as your body is free to put its energy into working on the elimination cycle and getting you ready for food intact after midday.
Don't do this...
Consuming heavy or combining foods (eggs, bread, bacon etc...) in the morning will create extra work for your body as it tries
to eliminate the previous days food. You will fell run down in the afternoon, especially if you also have a heavy lunch.
Have a bowl of fruit in the morning and make sure you have a variety (different types/colours).
If you become hungry prior to Midday, continue to have fruit only (Do not over eat). Fruit juice is great, but make
sure it is fresh, as bottled fruit juice can have a lot of sugar.
- Fruit Only from Breakfast till midday
- Have as much as you need, but do not over eat
- Have a variety of fruit
- Fruit juice needs to be fresh
Note: Fruit has many antioxidants, when you first start having alot of fruit in the mornings,
you may experience diarrhoea for a period of up to 2 weeks as your body detoxes.
If this occurs, ensure you drink more water.
